September 26 was a great day for our school board! We inaugurated our New Liverpool Elementary School! For the occasion, we were honoured to welcome M. This event highlights the importance of taking action to improve the social participation of people with disabilities. It's a week that highlights the good things we've done, as well as the obstacles that remain.
June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, an opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and M国产99热tis. It's a time to honour the stories, achievements and resilience of Indigenous Peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to impact our evolving country.

Our fabulous Speech and Language Pathologists (SLP) Team wants to highlight the importance of early detection and intervention of communication disorders and the role that they play in helping children communicate. World Book and Copyright Day is a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Each year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the scope of books - a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures.

With the theme Prevention is better than Death, this campaign highlights the importance of prevention and encourages people to dare to talk about suicide, despite fears or discomfort, because taking action can make all the difference.

For generations, the Naskapi people have occupied the land of what is now northern Qu国产99热bec and Labrador since time immemorial. The Naskapi were nomads, living o铿 the land and following the caribou herds on which they depended for resources. During the 1950s, the Naskapi way of life changed when most of the Naskapi people moved from Fort Chimo area to the Sche铿erville region.
The signing of Northeastern Quebec Agreement (NEQA) in 1978 which followed The James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA), led to development of the community of Kawawachikamach which continues to grow and flourish.
Through the Jimmy Sandy Memorial School and the James Chescappio Memorial Learning Centre, the CQSB proudly honours its relationship with the Naskapi people.

The beginning of May is a time of renewal with the arrival of flowers and the return of warm weather, which positively affects the morale of many people. From May 1 to 7, let鈥檚 all highlight Mental Health Week. It鈥檚 an opportunity to slow down and take care of ourselves, just as we take care of our bodies by eating well and exercising. Good mental health contributes to our well-being and feeling better about ourselves.
We are proud to inform you that at its April 19, 2023, regular meeting, the Council of 国产99热ers of the Central Qu国产99热bec School Board approved the recommendation of the Selection Committee which chose the name New Liverpool Elementary School for our new English school on the Qu国产99热bec South Shore.
In September 2023, the existing St. Vincent School building will be renamed New Liverpool Elementary School and will temporarily house our elementary students residing on the South Shore. Then, in March 2024, students will integrate their brand-new establishment located on chemin du Sault in L国产99热vis.
April 2 is and the beginning of Autism Month. Together, let's fight against the ignorance that breeds prejudice, strengthen our knowledge and raise awareness of the impact of our words.

Quebec Intellectual Disability Week (QIDW), which will mark its 35th anniversary from March 19 to 25, 2023, is an opportunity for our school board to raise awareness in its communities about the realities of people with intellectual disabilities.

The Central Qu国产99热bec School Board honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
As of July 5th, Secondary 4 and 5 students, as well as students registered in Adult Education or Vocational Training will be able to consult their academic results on a new online platform created by the Ministry of Education.
In partnership with LEARN, the Central Qu国产99热bec School Board is offering secondary 4 and 5 students who would have failed a mandatory course in the 2021-2022 school year a second chance to succeed by registering for virtual Summer School. Please click here for more information.
